I am Mak Sir. My twenty years of English teaching experience have shown me that many young students struggle and feel discouraged in their learning journey. Some people mistakenly label these children as less capable.

Is their language ability the real issue? Not at all. Most students communicate fluently in Chinese, and many are quite articulate. This clearly demonstrates their natural capacity for language learning.

Why, then, do they find English so challenging? The answer lies not in their abilities, but in their learning methods. Traditional approaches – endless worksheets, vocabulary drills, and dictation exercises – can make English feel like a chore. Ask yourself: wouldn't you lose interest if learning felt this mechanical?

While creating an enjoyable learning environment is important, we must balance it with academic achievement. Test scores remain valuable indicators of progress. The key is finding ways to make learning both effective and engaging. I strongly believe students can excel in exams while enjoying their learning journey.

This vision inspired me to establish Mak Sir English. Our mission is to introduce students to engaging and effective English learning strategies. We want them to discover that mastering English can be both rewarding and enjoyable.
